The toe.........

Well this past sunday at Soul Cafe James was showing me his toe, it is quite a large toe but it is nowhere close to as bad as my toe once was. Here's the story, in grade 12 I was on the basketball team and well lets just say i have fat feet so my b-ball shoes were petty tight. This along with my toes constantly getting stepped on caused my big toe nail to become ingrown. So me, being a man and all, didn't do anything about it because i figured it would just go away. But it didn't go away so i was stuck with this gross toe for almost a year. I have to say it wasnt all that bad because i did get to gross people out with it all the time. I had the toe operated on twice and an it was the most painful thing ever. Basically the take wire cutters shove them under your toe and start cutting, it hurts. So both of these operations didn't work and the toe was still ingrown becuase it hurt so much to get the operation i decided that i was just going to let it heal itself. After a few months of trying to do it on my own it was still there so i went to this foot specialist and he was pretty much awesome and the operation didnt hurt at all. Well thats my story for today if you want to see what my toe looks like now just come and ask me and for all you curious foke out there here's a picture of what it used to look like.

PS If anybody wants to they can leave comments about certain post you just have to go to the bottom of the post and click on the comments thing, it will say 0 comments or 1 comment or 2 comments ect.

Victoria Day Parade... is that Richard??!!!

Yep, crazy man Richard was doin' the Coast Capital dance at the Victoria Day Parade this year... which also points out that the Linde Fam braved the rain to go see it! (which might be even more crazy). Other Engageyouth participants were Richard, Sarah W., Johnny D. and Jubie... I think... I couldn't quite see Jubie but I was told she was there!

We've got exciting things happening this weekend! Junior highs are doin' a lifesized version of Victoriaopoly! Come out if you are in Junior High, and bring a few friends!

Senior High's we are going to be serving a meal at the Sanctuary Youth Center downtown. The Sanctuary is a center for downtown and troubled teens. We'll be having crazy concert afterwards. Make sure you contact me ASAP if you'd like to help and be a voice for Engage Youth.

Other dates:
- Don't forget the 31st is Crave at Esquimalt Lagoon (near garbage can #17)
- Surf trip forms need to be in already!!
-Iceblocking is comin' quick... start freezing your own! (June 9th)

Buff and tough (kinda)

Hello everyone
I am the intern, as you might have guessed working at the church is a very strenuous job and it helps me stay in amazing shape. All the typing, hanging out, planning and talking really tones my muscles. So all you boys out there you will have to come out and test out my awesome strength. I also have a sensitive side, so girls if you have problems doing your hair, painting your nails, or you just need a shoulder to cry on i'll be here for you. Well that's all i have to say for now, I'am looking forward to seeing everbody at crave next week.
Till then
Parker (the intern)

Matthew Thomas Parker, Esquire.

Matthew Thomas Parker, Esquire.

Here's our newest edition to our staff here at the church. Matty P "The Intern" officially started this past Sunday! We're excited to have him on board for running Summer Crave, Events and hangouts at the beaches! You may have seen him hangin' around at Crave and the Amazing Race. Anyway, give him a high five or 'pound it' and tell him that we're glad he's here!

What's up with the sun eh? Isn't it nice? well it is supposed to get rainy again later this weekend. nuts eh? oh well. Hey, has anyone jumped in the lake or ocean yet? brr.. well, it's hot out.. it's just that the water is probably still freezing.

2 Weeks of regular Crave left, including tonight! Man I'm going to miss the Wednesday nights. But don't forget we've got a special "Bonfire" Crave at Esquimalt Lagoon in Colwood on May 31st. That night is always fun! We'll have a sharing time and singing and last-time small group times. So if you'd like to share, feel free to think of something ahead-o-time.

Hey don't forget to bring money to Crave for Greg and Alyson Schulz tonight or next week.

later.

Jesus, Elevate my life...

Elevate led worship at Crave last night, and if you weren't there, you missed a great night! They kicked everything off with the reprise version of "Glimmer: Just a glimpse of You" and kicked right into the song after that. It's been too long since I felt I could just let go and worship God, without having everything else on my mind. I got lost in the words of "Blessed be Your name", which was pointed out with a refreshing look from Brandon (Lead singer). He had a great thing to say with Romans 12:1-2 as well. It was great to see that he reminded us all of the difference between just "singing" and actually Worshipping God. They ended their night with Brent pounding out the guitar riff driven "We'll let our praise be loud" off their new album called "Becoming". Of course, there was a large group of us that couldn't help ourselves and ran up to the front to do the whole vertical mosh pit thing. (ie. jumping up and down in a group). Their musical expertise was amazing, and their ministry was well heard at Crave last night. Oh, and if you were wondering about the old folks that came... that was the acoustic guitar guys parents and friends... they were warned prior, but they still wanted to come! haha. I think they thought it was ok?!
Annnnnnnnywaaaaaay...
Amazing Race is this Saturday! You won't wanna miss it! We're giving away 4 DVD players!!!! Bring all your friends!
Till next time...

Do vacuums really suck?

Well, on the weekend of Equip (and might I add, it was so much fun!.... "you're awesome!"), we were cleaning up and "an unnamed" student decided they'd be nice and help vacuum. All of a sudden I look over and a group of people were around them and all I could hear was "1, 2, 3,.... 29, 30" yes, that's 30 seconds of holding a vacuum up to your neck! It was so funny! Anyways, that person might not be so anonymous, as they had their neck welt up and go all red.

Anyways, on to other stuff...
Equip was so much fun! For those that went, (and those whom have been to SEMP), do you remember the actions for Cultivating, planting and reaping? Don't forget to send those letters to your friends! Well, on to upcoming stuff!

Here are a few things for the up-and-coming,
- Make sure to bring some money for Greg and Alyson for Mexico.
- New Youth Schedules are out!!
- Elevate is coming to play May 10th (bring a toonie)
- Amazing race is in just over a week! Get Excited!

Till next time...
